Today I went to visit my old school for a portfolio exhibition, it was nice to see my old teachers and see what the new students were working on.  I remember doing the same portfolio project in my year, and honestly it seemed like a waste of time.  The format they made us use was so boring and it really didn't leave much space for us to arrange it to our brand's image.  My portfolio is still at the school being shown at the open campus events since I don't really have use for it at the moment.  I should pick it up eventually and re-do the whole thing.  Back to the drawing board for me.

Today I went out with my girls from work.  It was the first time we all met up besides our contract signing.  It was nice since we all have different schedules and were finally able to have the day off together.  We spent some time hanging out in Futakotamagawa then headed over to Roppongi for drinks then clubbing.  I was hoping to get pretty trashed since it IS Wasted Wednesday, and we all don't have work together (except for Cat, who has a photo shoot Thursday).  We went to this really nice bar in Roppongi called R2 and there was a live trumpet player accompanied by a lounge DJ.  It was really classy so I felt kind of out of place with my White Trash Wednesday outfit.  There were just a lot of Wednesday themes today.  We headed over to a club and had a bunch of drinks there and danced till the last train.  It was a good night, and I was happy to be able to enjoy my early weekend since I have to work Saturday AND Sunday this week.  It was a good night out.  Hope to do something productive tomorrow, maybe I'll finally get around to sewing my summer dress! :)  Good night y'all, I'm about to crash.

Today I went to a BBQ in Nishi Azabu, it was hosted by a friend of a friend and it was an interesting group of guests.  Haven't really had the chance to go to outdoor house parties in Tokyo, so it was really nice.  I really miss the outdoor parties in Berkeley.  Man, I can't wait to have my own place with a backyard (I would settle for a terrace too!).

I didn't actually wear this scarf with my dress today, but I like to pair it with this dress since it makes me look like a carrot.  I actually wore this outfit on Easter, and even have orange tights to add some funk.  I didn't wear tights today so I was able to discover the numerous bruises I have (probably from work) and I look like a blue and white dalmatian.  Happy to have the day off tomorrow!  Will find something fun to do yay :))

Today was a long day at work.  I've been getting a good workout lately using a lot of muscles I often never use (or knew existed).  So pretty much my whole body aches, I better be hella ripped in a few months!  I have tomorrow off so I grabbed drinks in Shibuya with my friend then we walked around looking for street food but found no luck so we went to a convenience store and bought some fried chicken and ate it on a quiet street.  Later on, some dude randomly sat a few feet away from us and opened a beer and came over to say cheers.  We thought he was some creeper but he was actually just really bored because he had to wait two hours for his friend to arrive.  Been there, done that, I feel you man.  So we let him join our little street picnic and it turns out he used to be a hairstylist and now works at a vintage store in Harajuku (been there, done that too).  It's funny how you just meet random people in Tokyo.  All in all it was a good day.  I'm really glad I got to see my friend and it was good to go out after a stressful day, we actually work for the same company and I met her at the interview, but I don't get to see her very often because we work at different schools and also she is quitting soon.  Very sad, but I might actually see her more after she quits since she will have more time off!  Yay!  I was thinking of going clubbing tonight but I know that whenever I mix lack of sleep with alcohol I pass out and wake up on the street.  I think I learned my lesson from the first few times.  Even now my eyelids are drooping.  The dude we met is actually going to the same event I wanted to go to tonight, Tokyo is really small.  I kind of love it.

The past few weeks have been pretty hectic for me.  I quit my job as a vintage clothing buyer and started working at a gymnastics center for kids.  I still can't explain why I quit my old job, I love vintage clothing and the people were really nice.  Something just didn't feel right and I felt stuck, maybe because all this time I imagined myself working some job related to fashion and didn't consider any alternative option.  Since I can't figure out what I want for the future I figured I should just start with a job that I could enjoy and see where it goes.  I like working with kids and I love singing and dancing so my new job let's me do a lot of the things I love.  I still have a lot to learn but I'm finally getting the hang of it.  It feels nice to have a fresh start!  Oh and I turned 22 last week!  I want to be in Vegas!

This is from Saturday. I went vintage shop researching with my coworker in Daikanyama and Naka Meguro (in Tokyo). We walked the whole day starting at the famous Hachiko statue in Shibuya. I actually used to work in Daikanyama but I've never been shopping there before, it's a very nice place for a walk with lots of little shops and high fashion stores. Lovely to stroll around but not so good for my budget. There are many small vintage stores in that area specializing in high fashion brands like Chanel, Gucci, and Givenchy. Oh what I'd give for a vintage Chanel bag...

Naka Meguro is a really nice neighborhood with many shops along the river lined with cherry blossom trees. I heard it is beautiful in April when they all blossom. We spent about five hours walking around researching trends and noting prices and made it back to Hachiko around 7pm.

I was so tired afterwards, but somehow I had the energy to dance all night in Shibuya. It was actually a lot of fun, but I passed out when I got home in the morning and slept till 4pm. Oh, and a little sidenote, March 3rd is Girl's Day in Japan!

My coworker got a gel nail kit and she did my nails! It's the first time I've tried gel nails, I'm surprised they haven't chipped even after a week of washing dishes and strumming the guitar. Regular nail polish for me lasts about an average of 2 days. :0
